The Latest Bon Mot
In this case, latest means circa 1889. Regardless, this clever piece of writing (and reading by the legendary Hugh Laurie) is a piece of dandy literature any chap worth his salt should look into. Jerome K. Jerome's Three Men in a Boat. This is but a sample of the wit and humour the book is chock full of, and of course I mean that in the sense of Victorian humour.
It was made into a film in 1975, starring Tim Curry, Michael Palin and Stephen Moore. It is superb, in this dandy's humble opinion, and certainly worth watching.
